The 20 year old domain Whiskey.com is on exclusive auction at Flippa, the domain auction got a spike on a quiet Sunday night to $2million with 10 bids. The $2million bid was noticed on Namepros and the broker for the name, (Namepros Member KCGroup) posted, “We immediately pushed for verification and concluded it was a fake bidder. It was taken care of in under 20-30 minutes. These things happen.”
Most in the industry know that Whisky.com was sold for $3.1 million this year by the Castello Brothers and brokered by Toronto Domainer.
It will be interesting to see how high this name goes, it will run for another 25 days so the auction will be closing around a week before Christmas. The closing time may affect some end users who take time off for the holiday.
High bid is currently $60,000.
